Administration Proposal to Form New Trade Department Raises Questions for Exporters

On January 13th, President Obama unveiled a reform proposal that would retain cabinet-level status for the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), but with the obligation to report to the secretary of a newly formed department that would combine six federal agencies dealing with trade.

Small Businesses: OSHA Moves Forward on Injury & Illness Prevention Programs

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has taken a step forward towards a rulemaking on Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (I2P2) by initiating a process to obtain input from small businesses that may be affected by such a rule.
The association is structured to meet the diverse needs of the entire plastics industry. As SPI prepares for the future, member engagement in formulating strategy, developing priorities and supplying expertise is critical to our success. From the Executive Board to our three sector Councils (Equipment, Material Suppliers and Processors) and the variety of product/policy committees and self-funded groups, there is a strong foundation already in place to build SPI's new business blueprint.

Director, Industry Affairs
Direct and manage SPI's OEM/Brand Owner Council and related committees. Integrate broader SPI policy and program goals into Council and committee programming, with particular emphasis on the association's three core functions: advocacy, communications/marketing and shows/conferences.
Executive Director, American Progressive Bag Alliance
Serve as lead APBA advocacy officer, with a combined focus on government affairs, communications and grassroots mobilization as regards threats to plastic bag manufacture and distribution.
Program Manager, Industry Affairs - Standards and Safety
Manage and supervise all aspects of the Committee on Equipment Statistics program and Safety Statistics and Awards program. Coordinate and support American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards and Equipment Council guidelines processes.
