Those who come to NPE2009 come to buy. That is what two exhibitors found in a big way. "Before NPE2009 was half over, The Conair Group knew the show was a success," a company announcement says. "Two separate purchase agreements... were concluded for a total of almost $2-million. One of the orders-for over $1-million-was among the largest Conair has ever written during the NPE show." And from Windmoeller & Hoelschercame word of the on-site conclusion of the sale of a 3-layer, high-output, 134-inch layflat blown film line. "The NPE continues to be a worthwhile show for W&H," says vice president Andrew Wheeler. "There are fewer people overall than in 2006, but the quality of the people here has been fantastic." And W&H's Latin American director, Willi Mueller, adds that NPE "is the most important tradeshow for the Latin American plastics industry. The Latin American turnout at NPE2009 appears to have remained strong and has enabled us to consolidate three months' worth of customer meetings into a single week."
