SPI Congratulates Two Member Companies Recently Recognized with Awards

April 15, 2010

Two SPI member companies, injection molder Steinwall Inc. and colorant/additive specialist Royce Associates, were recently recognized for their outstanding service to customers.

At a celebration luncheon on March 8, Deere & Company presented Steinwall, Inc. and President Maureen Steinwall with a trophy for being the 2009 Supplier of the Year. This award is the highest supplier rating Deere & Company bestows. Deere rates its suppliers on factors that include on-time delivery, part quality, cost reduction efforts, relationship ease and technical contributions. From the more than 4000 companies in the Deere supply chain, 79 are designated as partner suppliers based on how well they meet the criteria. Then the 79 partner suppliers are reviewed for just that little extra that placed them above the rest. Maureen Steinwall is a member of SPI's Executive Board.

Carestream Health recently presented Royce Associates and Senior Vice President Wylie Royce with a trophy naming the company "Quality Supplier of the Year." Carestream Health presents only four of these awards out of approximately 5,000 vendors. The criteria taken into consideration includes the supplier's level of productivity, leadership in quality, participation in Carestream's E-commerce initiatives, on-time delivery performance and support of Carestream's supplier diversity goals. Royce makes the blue dye pellets used to make Carestream Health's blue base polyester for all of its x-ray films. Wylie Royce is a member of SPI's Executive Board.
