WASHINGTON, DC: On-the-go plastics professionals who plan to attend NPE2012 next month can access what they need to know to get the greatest benefit from their visit, no matter where they happen to be right now or during NPE week, it was announced today by SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association, which produces the triennial NPE.
Two new resources, described in detail at www.npe.org/mobile, provide mobile-technology access to a wealth of online information about NPE2012 and give users new capabilities for managing show-related activities:
● NPE2012 iPad App. This enables an attendee to create and update a personal schedule, search for and tag exhibitors to be visited, take notes on booth visits or conference sessions, view the NPE2012 floor plan, participate in social media conversations, and much more. The free app can be installed by going to the App Store from an iPad and searching for NPE2012.
● NPE2012 Mobile Phone Site. Anyone who has a smart phone with a web browser can access this site, which enables the visitor to use Map Your Show, the official provider of the NPE2012 directory of exhibits and conference sessions. The visitor can also access a personal show planner, if he or she has set one up following registration.
In addition to these new capabilities, SPI has established NPE2012 social media sites on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn that give instant access to news about NPE2012 and provide networking opportunities.
NPE2012 will take place Sunday through Thursday, April 1-5, 2012, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The exposition halls will be open April 2-5. A complete schedule of events can be found online at www.npe.org. NPE is solely owned and produced by the SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association.
Founded in 1937, SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association promotes growth in the $373 billion U.S. plastics industry. Representing nearly 900,000 American workers in the third largest U.S. manufacturing industry, SPI delivers legislative and regulatory advocacy, market research, industry promotion and the fostering of business relationships and zero waste strategies. SPI also owns and produces the international NPE trade show. All profits from NPE are reinvested into SPI’s industry services. Find SPI online at www.plasticsindustry.org and www.inthehopper.org.
"From resin suppliers and equipment makers to processors and brand owners, SPI is proud to represent all facets of the U.S. plastics industry," said William R. Carteaux, president and CEO, SPI. Our most recent economic reports show that the plastics industry as a whole is resilient, and has come through the recession significantly better than other U.S. manufacturing sectors."
