WASHINGTON, DC -- The committee of industry executives that will work with SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association to organize the NPE2015 international plastics exposition will be headed by chairman Jim Murphy, president of the Extrusion Systems business at Davis-Standard, LLC, and vice-chairman Glenn Anderson, senior vice president of Milacron, LLC, SPI announced today.
SPI, which founded and produces the triennial NPE, also disclosed the officially approved schedule for NPE2015. It will take place Monday through Friday, March 23-27, 2015, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
The NPE2015 Executive Committee headed by Murphy and Anderson will include chairpersons of three subcommittees. One of these, the Content Committee, is new and incorporates such key aspects of NPE2015 as new technology, educational programs, special events, and the 3rd International Plastics Design Competition. The subcommittees and their chairpersons are:
● OPERATIONS. Chairman: Thomas A. McGwire, president, Industrial Heater Corp. Vice-Chairman: Larry Doyle, president, Conair Group.
● CONTENT. Chairman: Michael McGee, director of technology, Nypro Inc. Vice-chairman: Robert Janeczko, president and CEO, i2Tech LLC.
● MARKETING AND SALES. Chairman: Christopher E. Parrillo, national sales manager, Yushin America, Inc. Vice-chairman: Stephen C. Montalto, director of sales and marketing, Parkinson Technologies, Inc.
“The full membership of the NPE2015 Committee includes 39 individuals, all of them volunteering time from busy plastics industry careers with machinery, materials, processing, or consulting companies,” said William R. (Bill) Carteaux, president and CEO of SPI. “Their close involvement with the planning and development of the trade show and co-located events will ensure that NPE2015 is truly an exposition created by and for the plastics industry.”
Jim Murphy: Chairman, NPE2015; President, Davis-Standard Extrusion Systems:
Based at Davis-Standard’s world headquarters in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, Murphy is responsible for the company’s Extrusion Systems business, which supplies equipment and services to industries such as pipe, profile, and tubing; wire and cable; sheet; elastomers; and recycling. Before joining Davis-Standard in 1989, Murphy had worked as a sales engineer for extrusion systems at NRM Corporation and at Battenfeld. His career at Davis-Standard began with a regional sales engineer position for pipe, profile, and tubing systems. In 1995 he was promoted to business manager for such systems and moved to the home office in Connecticut. He became head of all of the company’s extrusion systems in 2006.Jim Murphy chaired the Operations Committee for NPE2009 and was NPE2012 vice-chairman. He also currently serves on the SPI’s board of directors and is a member of its Equipment Council. He holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Akron and an MBA from Kent State University, both in Ohio.
Glenn Anderson: Vice-Chairman, NPE2015; Senior Vice President, Milacron
Glenn Anderson is senior vice president of global and strategic accounts for Cincinnati-based Milacron. He supports the company’s customers in the worldwide automotive, medical, and packaging markets. Anderson entered the plastics industry in 1984, joining Sterling Extruder Corporation after obtaining his bachelors degree from Rutgers (New Jersey) University. His career with Milacron began in 1989. He has served Milacron in a variety of senior management positions. Anderson was chairman of the NPE2012 Operations Committee and vice-chairman of that committee for NPE2009. He is a member of SPI’s board of directors and also serves on the association’s Equipment Council. Anderson is also active in the Plastics Pioneers Association. e holds an MBA degree from the Williams College of Business at Xavier University in Cincinnati.
NPE is a triennial international plastics exposition solely owned and produced by SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association. NPE2015 will take place Monday through Friday, March 23-27, 2015, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. NPE2012 had 1,933 exhibitors, 40% of which came from outside the U.S.A. The event attracted 55,359 participants, 26% of them international visitors.
