FFBD FAQs

What is the Flexible Film and Bag Division?
The Flexible Film and Bag Divison (FFBD) is a committee of SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association that actively promotes the growth of the plastic film and bag industry.

The SPI is the only trade association that represents all segments of our industry and the FFBD is the only group that speaks for the plastic film and bag industry on both national -- and regional -- levels.

FFBD membership includes all companies that have a vested interest in plastic film and bags.  This includes everyone from resin suppliers, producers, machinery manufacturers and consultants.

What are the goals of the FFBD?
The FFBD strives to represent and serve as the voice for the industry locally, nationally, and internationally. This includes providing effective industry representation, influence and leverage on public policy and government regulations. We work to promote industry growth, competitiveness and the advancement of technology.

It is our aim to provide a forum for addressing emerging environmental and legislative issues, to distribute educational materials, and promote the development of new applications and technology.

What kind of company belongs to the FFBD?
One of FFBD's greatest strengths is its diverse membership. The FFBD brings together people and firms from all plastic film and bag industry segments. This includes all size companies, from all locations. The FFBD membership doesn't target just one area of a business operation, or even geographic location. It is much broader.

An important membership value: FFBD membership is company-based. So different individuals from a company can participate in -- and benefit from -- FFBD activities.

Who participates in FFBD activities?
At FFBD programs, you'll find company owners, presidents, treasurers, chief executive officers, general and operations managers, marketing directors, sales representatives, plant and operations managers, human resource directors, and public policy executives -- to name a few. It is this diversity that makes FFBD unique.

FFBD programs are open to everyone who can use the information provided to enhance their business and operations.
