Contact: Bonnie Merrill Limbach FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HEALEY, HUNTLEY APPOINTED TO SPI SENIOR MANAGEMENT STAFF WASHINGTON (September 5, 2000) – Maureen A. Healey and Jery Y. Huntley have been appointed to the senior management staff of The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI). Healey, former SPI senior director for state government relations, was named chief regulatory and state affairs officer for the association. In this capacity, she will oversee all federal and state regulatory issues, as well as all state government activities, for SPI. Huntley, executive director of the SPI Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI), has been named chief business divisions officer for the association. In addition to her responsibilities with the VSI, she will represent all SPI divisions on the senior management staff. "With the addition of these strong leaders to our senior management team, as well as a recent redistribution of senior staff duties, we have brought the structure of SPI staff leadership into line with the member-driven structure of our association," said SPI President Donald Duncan. "This realignment gives us the leadership and direction we need in all areas of staff activity." Healey joined SPI in 1988 as a federal government affairs representative specializing in environmental issues. She was named assistant director in 1990 and director in 1994. Beginning in 1997, she worked full-time on transportation issues. In 1999, she was promoted to senior director for state government relations. Healey, who began her career in Capitol Hill, also spent five years at a lobbying firm working on environmental and transportation issues. Huntley has been executive director of VSI since 1995. The VSI, a division of SPI, is the North American organization for manufacturers of vinyl siding and suppliers of products and services to that industry. Prior to her work with VSI, Huntley was director of recycling for the American Plastics Council. She also has served as a national sales representative and director of government relations for Conservatree Paper Company, as well as a teacher and school library media specialist. Founded in 1937, The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc., is the trade association representing one of the largest manufacturing industries in the United States. SPI's 1,700 members represent the entire plastics industry supply chain, including processors, machinery and equipment manufacturers and raw material suppliers. The U.S. plastics industry employs 1.5 million workers and provides $304 billion in annual shipments. More About SPI: Vision and Mission . Membership . Business Units . Regional Offices .
