SPI ISSUES CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS IN NEW 'BUSINESS OF PLASTICS' EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM PLANNED FOR NPE2009

WASHINGTON, DC, U.S.A., June 30, 2008: The Education Committee for the NPE2009 international plastics exposition is now accepting abstracts for presentations in a new educational program, called the "Business of Plastics," to be offered at NPE2009, it was announced today by The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI). The triennial NPE show is organized by SPI and takes place on June 22-26, 2009 at Chicago's McCormick Place.   

The "Business of Plastics" program will address such topics as marketing, human capital management, finance, environmental issues, regulation, global economic trends, and other matters of strategic importance to plastics business management. Conference papers, learning labs, panel discussions, and other formats are possible.
Abstracts proposing a topic and format can be submitted after July 21 when a special page for posting them goes online at www.npe.org, including more information on the "Business of Plastics" program and submission guidelines. The "Business of Plastics" program will complement ANTEC™ 2009, the world's largest plastics technical conference. ANTEC will be co-located with NPE2009 through an agreement between SPI and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), organizer of the annual ANTEC. Also to be co-located with NPE2009 is the MoldMaking Expo 2009 trade show and conference, organized by Gardner Publications.

The NPE 2009 international plastics exposition will take place June 22-26, 2009 at Chicago's McCormick Place. NPE 2006 attracted 1,838 exhibitors on 942,524 sq.ft. (87,600 sq. m) of net space; 33% of them came directly from outside the U.S.  Of 64,438 industry professionals who registered to attend, 23% were internationals from 114 countries.
