  The SPI Bioplastics Council announced today that Jamplast Inc, a leading distributor of raw plastic materials and biopolymers, headquartered in Ellisville, Missouri, has officially been approved as a new member.
• SPI Bioplastics Council Members Head to Capitol Hill — April 21, 2010
  The day before thousands gather in Washington, DC for a rally marking Earth Day, members of the SPI Bioplastics Council flew to the nation's capital this week to visit with lawmakers. Members called for increased bioplastics funding through grants and other programs such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture's BioPreferred program.
• SPI Bioplastics Council Issues Position Paper on Oxo-Biodegradables & Other Degradable Additives — January 28, 2010
  The SPI Bioplastics Council today announced the release of a position paper that questions the scientific validity of biodegradability claims made by producers of "oxo-degradable" and "oxo-biodegradable" products. The Council's paper formally supports the point of view put forth by European Bioplastics in a July 2009 publication.

  The Bioplastics Council, a special interest group of SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association, announced today that PolyOne, a specialty chemical and polymer company headquartered in Avon Lake, Ohio and with 2008 annual revenues of $2.7 billion, has officially been approved as a new member.
