GLOBAL BUSINESS COUNCIL (GBC)

U.S. Plastics Business Development Mission to the Czech Republic and Poland September 25-29, 2006

Join this important business development mission to two of Europe's dynamic plastics manufacturing areas. Learn first-hand about opportunities and competitive forces in the rapidly expanding Central European plastics market by receiving customized market research and industry briefings, touring plastics facilities, and networking with Czech and Polish plastics industry representatives. Also, for an additional fee, participants may utilize the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service's "matchmaking" program. Under this program, FCS officials will pre-screen Czech companies identified as potential business partners or customers based on the mission participant's specific criteria. FCS will then facilitate meetings with these pre-screened companies with the specific objective of leading to concrete business opportunities (see more details about this matchmaking opportunity below).

By letting SPI and the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service plan all logistics, including hotel, ground transportation, and meeting arrangements, attendees will spend less time worrying about tedious travel details and more time learning about business opportunities and the market potential. Whether your company is interested in exploring potential export opportunities to Central Europe, setting up operations in that market, or wants to observe first-hand the competitive dynamics in the Czech Republic and Poland, this mission is designed to be a worthwhile investment.

Optional Activities:

  • Matchmaking in the Czech Republic: For an additional fee, mission participants may utilize a "matchmaking service" offered by the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service in Prague. Local U.S. Foreign Commercial Service officials with expertise in the plastics industry will pre-screen prospective business partners and organize one-on-one meetings with only the best contacts who meet the participating company's specific objectives. The Matchmaking Program Fee is $685 per company. Those opting to include the "matchmaking" program as part of the Czech Republic segment of the mission must register for the program no later than August 7, 2006. ** Upon registering for the program, participating companies will receive the "Matching Service" Questionnaire with instructions for completion. Therefore, if your company is interested in utilizing this service, it should register ASAP to give sufficient time for completion of the questionnaire.

  • Brno Engineering Fair: The mission coincides with the 48th International Engineering Fair in Brno, Czech Republic, to be held on September 18-22, 2006. The Brno Engineering Fair is the largest trade show in the region, and will include a separate area for the "Plastics, Rubber Technology, and Chemical Industry". Mission participants may attend the Brno Fair and then join the business development mission on September 25, 2006. The Fair also features a conference program with sessions on technical and business development topics. **Mission participants will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and registration for Brno Engineering Fair.
