  • Agenda

    Meeting highlights include:

    • Senator Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield), Senate Republican Leader in the California State Legislature

As Goes California, So Goes the Nation
Recognizing the importance of legislation introduced, debated and enacted in the state of California, PLASTICS is pleased to have the Senate Republican Leader as the keynote speaker. The clout of the California State Senate is enormous. As a legislative body, it not only approves state budgets and appropriations, but enacts state legislation and has legislative oversight over executive branch functions, just to name a few responsibilities. As a member of the leadership team, Senator Fuller will provide incredible insight into the legislative horizon, particularly as it pertains to the plastics industry, for the remainder of the legislative calendar year. We are all familiar with the statement, “as goes California, so goes the nation.” Join this session and learn what is looming in the California State Senate!

    • Cynthia Dunn, Senior Environmental Scientist with CalRecycle

CalRecycle and the Plastics Industry: Updates and Education
California’s Department of Resource Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), within the California Environmental Protection Agency, brings together the state’s recycling and waste management programs. PLASTICS is pleased to have the leading Senior Environmental Scientist from CalRecycle to provide updates on ongoing efforts within CalRecycle, and any new projects on the horizon that impact the plastics industry. You don’t want to miss this extremely important session as it offers an incredible opportunity to educate CalRecycle on all the positive work of the plastics industry, and discuss opportunities to work together.

      From the Governor’s Office
Direct from the office of Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., Graciela Castillo-Krings as the Deputy Legislative Secretary will share her unique insight. Castillo-Krings is a vital liaison between the Governor’s office and the general assembly, and coordinates and collaborates on legislation that impacts a variety of program areas and industries, including the plastics industry.
