William R. Carteaux PRESIDENT & CEO

Welcome! SPI is unlike any other organization. Formed by a group of plastics industry trailblazers in 1937, SPI founders understood that networking, coupled with “strength in numbers” advocacy, would be the most powerful tools to navigate change and the formidable challenges we’d face 75 years later. Today, SPI member companies and a dedicated, knowledgeable staff have much to be proud of when it comes to accomplishments.

Plastics technology has steadily grown to become the third largest component of U.S.manufacturing, and nearly a million people now work directly in various segments of the U.S. plastics industry. Generating roughly $341 billion in annual shipments, it’s fair to say that you’re part of an economic powerhouse.

Now, let’s put that power to work. Despite extreme industry diversity, SPI maintains an “all for one, one for all” nature. We diligently work to advance U.S. Plastics and encourage the success of initiatives that our member companies hold in common. As SPI’s current president, I assure you that the officers, Board of Directors, Council and Committee members and staff of today’s SPI are committed to building on the foundation laid by the SPI guardians who came before us. I want to promise you that we will continue to diligently work to ensure yourprosperity and success. Join us now to become part of the experience!
