Hosted every three years ahead of NPE: The Plastics Show, the PLASTICS Scholarship (formerly named the Student Video Contest) awards more than $10,000 worth of scholarship funds to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in a plastics or plastics-related educational program in the U.S.
To compete for the scholarship, students (working individually or as part of a group of up to 5 people) create and submit a 2-4 minute video to PLASTICS that explores the future of the plastics industry in the 21st century and beyond, focusing on innovation, design freedom and the economics of plastics. Submissions are judged on creativity, originality and the effectiveness of the video in promoting innovation in the plastics industry.
The following scholarships are awarded:
- First Place: $8,000
- Second Place: $5,000
- Third Place: $3,500
Submissions are typically accepted beginning in the year prior to NPE, meaning the next submission period will begin in 2017. Check back on this page for official contest rules and information on dates and submission guidelines.
