Merging future leaders and industry leaders on us.

Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) and Plastics Machinery Magazine have joined forces to offer a new program, Future Leadership Engagement Program, to bring the next generation to PLASTICS events. We recognize the importance of developing a strong workforce and cultivating future leaders who will shape the success of the plastics industry. Creating opportunities for young professionals to attend core PLASTICS events allows for education, development, and networking, and provides resources to build a lifelong career in plastics.

In 2020, the program will cover the cost of registration, hotel accommodations, and round-trip airfare for the following events:

Participants must meet all eligibility criteria:

  • Participants must represent PLASTICS member companies from the equipment, moldmakers, or processing sectors of the industry
  • Participants must be under 40 years old
  • Employers of participants may be represented no more than one time every three years
  • The company the participant represents cannot have had a representative at a Board or Equipment Council meeting in the previous three calendar years
  • Individual participants are eligible to receive reimbursement for meeting participation one time

Submit Your Application Here!

Those first to apply and meet all eligibility criteria will be selected to participate in the program. Payment to the participants will be in the form of direct reimbursement after submission of expense documentation for the following expenses:

  •  Event registration fee
  •  Hotel accommodations at the event's official hotel at the daily guest rate negotiated by PLASTICS for nights following the first and subsequent full-day agendas
  •  Round-trip, economy class airfare—up to a maximum of $600
Thank you to our partners, Plastics Machinery Magazine and Plastics Recycling Magazine,  for sponsoring the program.

Max Preston, General Manager, Smart Attend

"Attending the PLASTICS meetings in person was never out of the question for me. Twice a year, you have leaders, pioneers, educators, and representatives from every facet of our industry coming together to help drive our industry forward. The relationships have completely changed my perspective for the better and being involved at each meeting has allowed me to take this experience back to my own company and help drive the business forward."

Annina Donaldson, President Florida Operations, Maxi-Blast, Inc.

Since beginning to attend the bi-annual PLASTICS meetings in-person, I have been able to build upon those relationships I otherwise wouldn’t be able to digitally. There is no substitute for face-to-face conversations about current business challenges, trading professional advice or just seeing a friendly face at other industry-related events.

Eric Ellenbogen, Chemical Engineer, Sealed Air

Attending the PLASTICS Annual Meeting & Fall Conference was an invaluable experience. It helped strengthen my professional growth by attending council meetings, networking face to face with industry leaders, and discussing the challenges facing our industry. And it was fun!
