ASTM International Has Plastics Ballots Closing in April

ASTM has a number of ballots relating to existing standards and the development of new standards closing in April. Members of several different committees can make their voices heard on these items pertaining to several different existing and potential standards and classifications related to plastic materials. The closing dates for voting are April 6, April 10 and April 13. A list of ballots that may be pertinent to the plastics industry is included below and the complete listings may be found on ASTM’s website.
Ballots Closing April 6, 2015
- Revision of D3641 - Standard Practice for Injection Molding Test Specimens of Thermoplastic Molding and Extrusion Materials.
- Revisions to ASTM D70 STM Flexural Properties of Unreinforced and Reinforced Plastics and Electrical Insulating Materials in conjunction with a 5-year review
- One negative vote was received on the D20 ballot for the five year review of D3418
- Ballot, D20(14-07),09/03/14, received one negative and three comments. The negatives concerned the wording of section X1.1.1. Comments changing the numbering of section 5 to 6 and changing wording in sections X1.4, X1.6.6 and X1.6.7. This ballot corrects the negative and comment.
This project received two negatives and one comment in D20 (14-05) ballot, 07/21/2014. This ballot addresses the two negatives, section 2.1 ASTM documents and section 5.0. Comment concern section 15 wording.
