The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) worked with Berry Global to arrange a site visit for State Senator John DeFrancisco (R-50) at their Solvay, NY facility last month. Sen. DeFrancisco, the deputy majority leader, serves on the Senate Rules Committee.

Berry Global is a well-recognized, international processor of packaging and industrial use plastic products. The Solvay facility manufactures popular food packaging containers seen on grocery store shelves across the U.S. The 180-employee facility is impressive due to the product quality requirements for food packaging, and the volume of product they manufacture and ship each day.

Sen. DeFrancisco heard from a large team of company executives, and received a more detailed picture of the company’s operations. The tour included stops along product manufacturing lines, printing offices, packaging operations and employee safety and meeting rooms. Throughout, Sen. DeFrancisco stopped to speak with employees about what it’s like to work at Berry Global.

Berry and PLASTICS look forward to working with Sen. DeFrancisco in the future.
