Plastics Industry Applauds Immediate Expensing and Research and Development Provisions in Tax Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) President and CEO William Carteaux issued the following statement after the House and Senate approved the tax reform bill.

“What’s remarkable about the tax reform bill is how immediately we can expect it to have a positive impact on American manufacturers and the people and communities that depend on them. In particular, the plastics industry applauds the inclusion of full and immediate capital expensing, which will allow companies to begin expanding their operations and their employment rolls right away. The research and development tax credit, which was preserved in the final version of the bill, will also continue to keep American plastics companies at the forefront of innovation in the global economy.

This is a solid tax reform bill that will make the American plastics and manufacturing industries stronger.”
