Smaller, more intimate informational programs enable professionals to get all the benefits of face-to-face interaction close to home.

WASHINGTON—SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Associationannounced Friday its fall slate of regional programming. Each of SPI’s Regional Advisory Boards (West, Midwest, South and Northeast) will host its own program in September in order to provide networking opportunities for all plastics industry professionals across the country.

“The U.S. plastics industry is among the most innovative and technologically-advanced sectors in manufacturing, but that hasn’t stopped in-person, face-to-face meetings from still being the best way to start, grow and build new business relationships,” said SPI President and CEO William R. Carteaux. “Large-scale triennial events like NPE and other annual programs like the Global Plastics Summit (GPS) provide a great deal of value to plastics industry professionals, but their needs to develop their business through building professional relationships continue throughout the year, not just when the big events are held.”

“With our regional programming, we hope to provide professionals in the plastics industry with the flexibility they need to build their careers and their companies through networking and interacting with their colleagues in venues that won’t break the bank when it comes to traveling,” he added.

The fall regional programs kick off on Thursday, Sept. 10 with the SPI West Region Workshop and Plant Tour at Techmer PM in Rancho Dominguez, California. The following week SPI will host its South Regional Workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the BMW Performance Center, in Greer, South Carolina. After a morning of workshop presentations on Sept. 15, attendees will get the chance to have an exhilarating driving experience led by professional BMW performance drivers. The South Regional Workshop will be preceded by a plant tour and reception hosted by Jarden Plastic Solutions at their facility on Monday, Sept. 14, also in Greer, South Carolina. Then on Sept. 22 the SPI Midwest Regional Advisory Board will host a regional workshop and plant tour at Steinwall, Inc. in Bloomington, Minnesota, featuring presentations on hot industry subjects like issues in workforce development and recycling and sustainability. Finally, the fall 2015 regional program concludes with the Northeast Regional Golf Outing, an excellent opportunity to network, both on the course and off, at the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Massachusetts on Thursday, Sept. 24.

SPI members and non-members are invited to attend any or all of its regional events. Since 2009 SPI has welcomed more than 1,000 members, potential members and industry visitors at more than 36 regional events around the country. To register, visit SPI’s website at www.plasticsindustry.org/events.
