Russ Broome began his career in the plastics industry in 1994 on the processing side at multiple custom injection molding operations. This led to plastics design & manufacturing engineering roles at ABB, a global leader in electricity metering, communications and energy management platforms.

From there, he was recruited to LNP Engineering Plastics, a custom compounder of engineered thermoplastics. He held roles in territory sales, as well as product and industry marketing across all LNP brands. A few years after LNP was acquired by GE Plastics, he was recruited to PolyOne, a global leader in specialty polymer solutions and services, where he held roles in corporate key accounts and global business development.

After a decade in operations followed by a decade on the commercial side, Mr. Broome transitioned to, TE Connectivity, a leading global supplier of consumer electronics, as a resins engineer sitting on their automotive procurement team. During these twenty plus years focused on resin suppliers, processors and brand owners, Broome also found time to start his own plastics company with stints representing equipment manufactures as well as recruitment.

In 2014, Russ Broome was recruited as managing director of SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers) where had responsibility for North American operations. Prior to joining SPE staff, Broome had been a member and volunteer dating back to his college days and was elected president of the organization in 2011.

Mr. Broome holds a degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and has completed an executive leadership course at Stanford Graduate School of Business. He currently resides in Fayetteville, NC with his two teenage daughters.
