California Assemblyman Bill Quirk (D-20) toured long-time PLASTICS member Delta Pacific Products in Union City, California on August 17. In business since 1988, Delta Pacific Products is a full service plastic injection molding and medical device contract manufacturer and a full-service provider for medical original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), supporting customers from concept development, design, initial product sampling through full commercial production.

With a background in physics and science, Assemblyman Quirk showed a special appreciation of the Delta Pacific Products’ automation and precision production and quality control. Assemblyman Quirk is also chairman of the Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee, which oversees legislation regarding toxic substances and hazardous materials, hazardous waste regulation, drinking water regulation, and pesticides. Quirk’s in-depth, analytical and scientific approach to issues is highly respected by the plastics industry.

Following the tour, Delta Pacific Products founder Fred Betke said about Assemblyman Quirk, “I liked his scientific approach to the various bills that come across his desk, regarding not only our industry but others that really require a deep-dive to find out how valid and/or practical they are. That was very refreshing to hear.”
