Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) Releases 2023 Cleanup Champions Initiative Report

Led by the Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP) Community Impact Task Group, the Cleanup Champions Initiative encourages PLASTICS’ member companies to use the Guide to Planning a Litter Cleanup to carry out a cleanup in their community. The task group collaborated with ten companies to use this resource to plan at least one cleanup in 2023.

Washington D.C.— The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has released its 2023 Cleanup Champions Initiative Report. Led by the Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP) Community Impact Task Group, the Cleanup Champions Initiative encourages PLASTICS’ member companies to use the Guide to Planning a Litter Cleanup to carry out a cleanup in their community. The task group collaborated with ten companies to use this resource to plan at least one cleanup in 2023. The report details the accomplishments of participating companies in 2023 through this initiative.

Important statistics highlighted in the 2023 Cleanup Champions Initiative Report include:

  • 10 companies, over 42 cleanups
  • 1,080+ volunteers
  • 5,840 hours volunteered
  • 45k pounds of litter removed from the environment

The Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP) Community Impact Task Group was created in April of 2022 to foster collaboration among PLASTICS member companies and external organizations to provide an outlet for the industry to give back and positively impact the environment and communities the plastics industry serves.
