PLASTICS Applauds Bipartisan Permitting Reform

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) today applauded the introduction of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 to improve federal permitting and provide greater certainty for critical infrastructure projects.

“The plastics industry is a cornerstone of American manufacturing. We need affordable, reliable energy and modern infrastructure to compete and deliver the plastic products Americans depend on,” said PLASTICS President and CEO Matt Seaholm. “Making it easier to build responsibly will support American jobs, help keep essential products affordable and strengthen our economic and national security.”

PLASTICS commends Senators Shelley Moore Capito, Mike Lee, Sheldon Whitehouse and Martin Heinrich for their bipartisan leadership and urges Congress to advance the legislation.
