Safety Requirements for Flat Cast Film and Cast Embossed Film Extrusion Machines

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) developed a safety standard for flat-cast and cast-embossed film extrusion machines. The previous SPI B151.2-1999 standard was withdrawn in 2009. PLASTICS reviewed the old content and created two new documents: ANSI/PLASTICS B151.32-2024 for film extrusion machines and another for laminating and coating (coming soon). The standard aims to minimize hazards by eliminating, safeguarding, and warning about risks, with responsibilities assigned to both suppliers and users.
