Washington, D.C. — The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) is proud to announce that NPE2024: The Plastics Show® was awarded the Grand Award for “Show with the Most Commendable Green Initiatives” and ranked as the 7th largest trade show of 2024 at the Tradeshow Executive (TSE) Gold 100 Awards & Summit.
This prestigious recognition acknowledges PLASTICS’ commitment to sustainability and its leadership in advancing environmentally responsible practices across the plastics industry. The award honors the groundbreaking efforts showcased at NPE2024, including the debut of the Sustainability Hub, the NPE Recycling Center, and more than 20 educational sessions focused on circularity, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.
“NPE2024 was more than just the largest plastics trade show in the Americas—it was one of the biggest and most impactful trade shows of the year,” said PLASTICS President and CEO Matt Seaholm. “Being recognized among the top ten shows and earning the Grand Award for ‘Most Commendable Green Initiatives’ underscores the strength and influence of our industry. NPE2024 demonstrated that innovation, growth, and environmental responsibility can move forward together—and we’re excited to build on that success as we look ahead to NPE2027.”
“Sustainability was central to NPE2024,” said Patrick Krieger, Senior Vice President of Sustainability and Policy at PLASTICS. “Our show floor recycling program is unlike any other in our industry, and the Sustainability Hub showcased companies leading the way into a new, circular plastics economy. NPE is our opportunity to demonstrate our industry’s shared commitment to reducing waste and driving long-term progress.”
NPE2024 achieved a 100% diversion rate, recycling all plastics, cardboard, and aluminum collected from the show floor, and preventing more than 516,000 pounds of waste from reaching landfills. The Sustainability Hub featured hands-on exhibits from more than thirty companies and organizations, highlighting solutions in recycled materials, sustainable manufacturing, and waste recovery.
The award was presented during the Gold 100 Awards Gala Dinner on October 16, 2025, where PLASTICS was also named a finalist for the Best Strategic Partnership Award.
As planning begins for NPE2027, PLASTICS remains committed to raising the bar for sustainability, innovation, and global collaboration in the plastics industry.
NPE2027 will take place May 3–7, 2027, at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida. Exhibitor applications are now open. To showcase your solutions at the largest plastics trade show in the Americas, visit npe.org/exhibit.
