Voluntary Guidelines: Plastic Bottle Material Code System

PLASTICS has developed a voluntary coding system for plastic containers to aid recyclers in sorting them by material type. The coding system, recommended to the industry, provides a national identification mark on the bottom of plastic containers. It aims to be convenient for sorting personnel, avoiding complexity and the need for extensive training.
