Test Inherent Viscosity of Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET)

This method is used to determine the inherent viscosity of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) dissolved in a 60/40 phenol/1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane solution at a concentration of 0.50%. It provides a measure of the viscosity of PET, except for highly crystalline forms that may require a different procedure due to their insolubility in this particular solvent mixture.
