Washington, D.C.— January 27 to January 28, the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) will hold a Legislative Fly-In at the State Capitol in Albany, New York. PLASTICS President and CEO, Matt Seaholm, and individuals representing the eighth-largest U.S. manufacturing industry will meet with legislators to highlight the sustainability benefits of plastic materials and discuss how well-crafted EPR legislation would benefit all New Yorkers.
“New York is long overdue for sound Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation that can drive real change and is focused on increasing recycling rates,” said PLASTICS President and CEO Matt Seaholm. “Our Albany meetings are an opportunity to collaborate with elected officials on crafting legislation that improves recycling infrastructure, fosters end markets for recyclable materials, and supports innovative recycling technologies—all without increasing costs for New Yorkers. The plastics industry knows we have a role to play in keeping waste out of our environment, and we look forward to productive conversations with policymakers to reach our shared sustainability goals, while representing the over one million workers supported by this essential industry.”
PLASTICS President and CEO, Matt Seaholm, will be available for interviews on Tuesday, January 28. To schedule an interview, please contact Camille Gallo, Director of Communications and Media, at [email protected].
