WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Recycled Materials Attribution Act (RMAA) and the Packaging and Claims Knowledge (PACK) Act, advanced out of the House Energy & Commerce Committee following a markup of the two key recycling bills. The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) released the following statement:
“PLASTICS is pleased to see the RMAA and PACK Act advance out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee today. We thank Chairman Brett Guthrie, members of the committee, and the sponsors of these bills, Reps. Nick Langworthy and Randy Weber, for their continued leadership.
These proposals would establish clearer, nationally consistent standards for recycling and related packaging claims, giving consumers more reliable information and manufacturers greater certainty. Together, they strengthen recycling markets and encourage continued investment in recycling and domestic manufacturing.
We look forward to continuing to work with lawmakers of both parties to get these measures across the finish line and deliver a stronger, more consistent recycling system across the nation.”
