Californian labelling bill will increase landfilling: PLASTICS

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) in the US has testified against a Californian labelling bill that it claims will set recycling back. Citing concerns with the bill SB 343, Shannon Crawford, director for state governor affairs at PLASTICS, believes that it will result in extensive negative environmental outcomes because, although unintended, it will lead to more materials going to landfill and reduced recycling.
