Industry Groups Want Greater Focus on Recycling in Infrastructure Package
Industry leaders are criticizing aspects of President Biden’s $2.3 trillion infrastructure package, saying it doesn’t focus more on recycling as a way to bolster sustainability. The plastics industry is among some U.S. manufacturers who are gearing up to lobby lawmakers on the need to include more recycling components as Biden’s proposal makes its way through Congress. “We need further investment in recycling infrastructure to bring us closer to our shared goal of sustainability, but we are disappointed this was not made a priority,” said Tony Radoszewski, CEO of the Plastics Industry Association, in a statement.
